A Hermiston burglar made off with 28 hats, 10 pairs of shoes and a motorcycle, and an intoxicated friend ran into traffic

WEDNESDAY

3:52 a.m. - Pendleton police received a 911 report of domestic disturbance on Arabian Drive.

8 a.m. - Hermiston police took a report for graffiti at Butte Park on Northwest Seventh Street.

8:11 a.m. - Someone made off with crucial identification documents, including a birth certificate, belonging to a Heppner man on Linden Way, The man also reported possible suspects.

9:35 a.m. - Barking dogs disturbed the sleep of an Irrigon man on Pine Road. He reported the dogs belong to a neighbor directly behind his residence and he needed to leave for work in four hours. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office sent a deputy, who talked with neighbors and found no one lives at the house.

Barking ghost dogs maybe?

10:22 a.m. - Umatilla police received complaints about someone again leaving a dog for extended periods on a porch on Dean Avenue.

11:50 a.m. - Hermiston police responded to East Highland Avenue and South Highway 395 on an anonymous report of a group of juveniles throwing rocks at another group of juveniles. Police, however, did not find any suspects.

12:10 p.m. - Residents at a home on John Day Street, Umatilla, drew a visit from police for having furniture in the front yard.

4:09 p.m. - Pilot Rock police responded to a report of an assault on Northeast Elm Street.

5:38 p.m. - A Hermiston landlord told police someone broke into his tenant’s apartment on the 100 block of Southwest Ninth Street and stole the motorcycle helmet, motorcycle keys and the motorcycle, plus 28 hats worth $50 each and 10 pair of Air Jordan shoes worth $1,000.

8:15 p.m. - A 911 caller at the Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge reported someone was drowning in the Columbia River. Several agencies responded, including the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. The victim was on the Washington side of the river, and emergency responders save the person.

8:28 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of a burglary in progress on the 900 block of Northwest Stockton Street.

10:31 p.m. - A resident on Washington Lane, Irrigon, reported a fire in her yard near the light pole. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and Irrigon Rural Fire Protection District responded and extinguished the fire.

11:17 p.m. - A caller reported she dropped off her intoxicated friend ran at the Boardman rest area on the westbound side of Interstate 84 and he ran into traffic. She said she would like law enforcement to find him.

ARRESTS, CITATIONS

•Boardman police arrested Tobias Pascual, 27, no address available, for driving under the influence of intoxicants and failure to display a license following a two-vehicle crash a little past noon on the 400 block of Willow Fork Drive, Boardman.

•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Crystal L. Gonzalez, 23, of Milton-Freewater, for first-degree burglary, aggravated theft and trespassing.

12:11 a.m. - Hermiston police received a report of a robbery at East Dogwood Avenue and Northeast McNary Street.

9:02 a.m. - Pendleton police took a report for a theft at Olney Cemetery, 865 Tutuilla Creek Road, Pendleton.

10:30 a.m. - Staff at The Links Senior Apartments, 310 Klickitat St., Umatilla, asked to speak to an officer about illegal dumping.

10:36 a.m. - A caller asked Umatilla police to do something about a site on Cliff Street where the property owner “only ever cuts her lawn once per year.”

11:19 a.m. - Callers reported a burglary at Jones Scott Co. Sand & Gravel off Highway 207, Hermiston.

1:03 p.m. - A woman told Hermiston police her employer fired her and won’t give her the last pay check.

1:50 p.m. - Pilot Rock police dealt with code violations on Northeast Third and Northeast Fifth streets.

2:04 p.m. - Pendleton police checked on a code violation at Rugged Country Lodge, 1807 S.E. Court Ave.

2:32 p.m. - A Pendleton caller on Northwest Ellis Avenue reported the theft of a bicycle, two scooters and a Big Wheel from the front yard within the last week.

Yep, someone stole a kid’s Big Wheel.

3:41 p.m. - Stanfield police received a report that two people acted suspicious in the Stanfield Public Library, 180 W. Coe Ave., Stanfield, at around 6:30 Wednesday evening.

•Pendleton police arrested Clay Sorenson, 38, of Pendleton, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Thursday

•Milton-Freewater police arrested Paul Duane Caverly, 47, of Walla Walla, for resiting arrest, interfering with a peace officer, giving false information, two counts of trespassing and on warrants.

•Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jason Leon Bowles, 43, no address available, for DUII.

Friday

•Pendleton police arrested Damon Kipp, 20, Pendleton, for DUII.

•Pendleton police at about 4:30 a.m. responded to a man causing a disturbance at St. Anthony Hospital. Officers arrived and arrested Michael Shane Marion, 42, of Hermiston, for third-degree assault, menacing, harassment, second-degree disorderly conduct and first-degree criminal mischief (vandalism).

•Pendleton police cited Dustin Winterton, 25, of Pendleton, for DUII.

4:50 a.m. - A truck hit a power pole next to Mac’s Bar & Grill, 1400 S.W. Dorion Ave., Pendleton, causing downed power lines.

7:33 a.m. - A resident of Liberty Lane and Bensel Road, Hermiston reported the theft of tools.

8:20 a.m. - Pendleton police were called to Washington Elementary School, 1205 S.E. Byers Ave., for a reported fight.

4:26 p.m. - A woman reported the theft of her driver’s license and EBT card from her stroller while at Riverfront Park, 302 S.W. 23rd St., Hermiston.

5:09 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report of possible child abuse/neglect.

5:27 p.m. - Theft was reported at Hat Rock Campground, 2280 Hat Rock Road, Hermiston. A Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy took a report.

8:06 p.m. - A vehicle was reported stolen from Southeast Ninth Drive, Pendleton.

12:14 p.m. - Stanfield police received two more odor complaints about 3D Idapro on Hoosier Lane.

12:37 p.m. - A burglary was reported at a rental property on Northeast Douglas Street, Pilot Rock.

3:40 p.m. - Theft was reported at Sand Station Recreation Area, Highway 730, Umatilla.

4:27 p.m. - A vehicle fire that was starting a grass fire at Fox Lane and highway 730, Umatilla, was put out by the Irrigon Fire Department.

4:45 p.m. - Umatilla police were called to Covina Court on a report of an assault.

7:53 p.m. - A Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy took a theft report from a resident of Northeast Riverside Avenue, Pendleton.

10:20 p.m. - Pendleton police broke up an underage party at a residence on Northwest Sixth Street.

12:34 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a scam report from a resident of Eastside Road, Milton-Freewater.

2:07 a.m. - Pendleton police were called to a reported fight at Hamley’s 8 S.E. Court Ave., but were unable to find any combatants.

5:02 a.m. - A resident of Cain Lane, Irrigon, called dispatch to report his neighbor’s travel trailer was on fire. Fire departments from Irrigon and Boardman, the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and the Irrigon ambulance responded.

5:24 a.m. - A vehicle drove through a fence at Wilson Lane and Olson Road, Boardman, and the engine compartment caught fire. No one was in the vehicle when the Boardman Fire Department arrived to put out the flames.

8:35 a.m. - A vehicle break-in was reported by a resident of Cobb Road, Milton-Freewater.

11:45 a.m. - A resident of Northwest Stockton Street, Hermiston, reported her son and daughter-in-law were using drugs in a closet. She requested contact from a Hermiston police officer.

4:54 p.m. - Theft was reported by a resident of Sunquist Road, Milton-Freewater.

5:45 p.m. - The Ione Fire Department responded to a fire reported near Willow Creek east of B Street, Ione.

•The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony John Moore, 32, address not provided, for driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol).

•Pendleton police arrested Michael Shane Marion, 42, address not provided, on felony charges of aggravated third-degree assault and first-degree criminal miscief (two counts), and misdemeanors of menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct (two counts), second-degree criminal mischief and harassment.

Saturday

•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Patsy Totsmaywee Jones, 33, address not provided, for third-degree robbery, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of hit and run (injury), reckless driving, recklessly endangering another, second-degree theft and theft by receiving.

Sunday

•Oregon State Police was called after a woman attempted to buy a firearm at Smitty’s Ace Hardware in Hermiston and was denied because of an active arrest warrant. Troopers arrested Kathi Jo Hamner, 48, of Irrigon at her home for unsworn falsification and for the failure to appear bench warrant.

•Umatilla police arrested Dashawn Marquic Hudson, 34, address not provided, for possession of methamphetamine, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of driving while suspended and attempt to elude police.

•Christopher M. Allred, 33, address not provided, was arrested by Hermiston police for possession of heroin, second-degree theft (shoplifting) and a felony failure to appear warrant.

•Soren Matteus Wolf, 19, address not provided, was arrested by Pendleton police for first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief.

•Boardman police arrested Sabino Lopez Chingo, 29, address not provided, for DUII and failure to display license.

•Oregon State Police arrested Troy Allen Armstrong, 54, Pendleton, for DUII. A breath test at the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, gave a BAC reading of 0.19%, more than twice the legal limit.

•Troopers also arrested Michael L. Patterson, 55, of College Place, Wash., for DUII and violation of open container laws. His BAC was 0.13%. Patterson was transported to St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton, for medical reasons where he was cited and released to a family member.

7:27 a.m. - Hermiston police took a report for graffiti at a site on Southwest Sandy Drive.

8:27 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report for a vehicle that ended up in a ditch at Sagebrush and Bensel roads, Hermiston.

2:11 p.m. - Umatilla police responded to a report of graffiti tagging on Cedar Court.

3:41 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a male and female fighting at Highway 207 and Butter Creek Road, Echo.

4:02 p.m. - A caller on Gun Club Lane outside Hermiston complained about a person using a recreational vehicle as a home while also keeping junk cars around the site, plus other broken machinery, chickens and a loose pit bull dog. The caller said they also burn plastic in a barrel at night.

4:06 p.m. - Hermiston police received a complaint about an insect infestation on Southwest Desert Oak Drive.

9:47 p.m. - Youth pulled wires out of a building at the Northwestern Motel & RV Park, 389 Main St., Heppner.

•Milton-Freewater police arrested Marcia Tiscareno, 30, of 608 N.E. Fifth Ave., Milton-Freewater, for first-degree burglary and second-degree theft.

•Ronald Patrick Sims, 74, of Pendleton, is back in the Umatilla County Jail following the revocation of his release agreement in a sex crimes case.

Sims on May 17 pleaded not guilty to first-degree sexual abuse and public indecency. The Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office has accused Sims of molesting a girl when she was 4 or 5 between Dec. 23, 2006, and Dec. 22, 2010, and of exposing himself to her between Jan. 1 and April 11 this year.

Court records show Sims paid 10 percent of his $150,000 bond to get out of jail and agreed to certain conditions to avoid going back before trial, including not being outside his house except from 9-11 a.m. and for doctor appointments. The district attorney’s office on May 29 asked the court to revoke that release after Sims violated that condition on multiple occasions.

The victim in the case took a photo in one instance of Sims on his front porch, Pendleton police officer Cass Clark also saw him on the porch and warned him to follow the judge’s order, and Pendleton police detective Howard Bowen on the afternoon of May 29 saw Sims driving, pulled him over and told him the violations could land him in jail.

Sims appeared Tuesday in circuit court in Pendleton for a hearing on his release, which Circuit Judge Christopher Brauer revoked. Sims next has a pre-trial conference on June 14.

•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Linda Jean Phillips, 37, of Weston, for third-degree assault, menacing and attempted unlawful use of weapon.

12:48 p.m. - Pilot Rock police took multiple reports for bad checks at the Pilot Rock Market, 168 N.W. Birch St.

1:27 p.m. - A resident on Columbia Boulevard, Umatilla, told police someone vandalized his front porch and stole a bunch of plants.

2:20 p.m. - Milton-Freewater police took a report for a break-in at a storage complex on the 900 block of Peabody Avenue and the theft of propane tanks and a battery from a recreational vehicle.

3:57 p.m. - Five people fought on Naches Avenue, Umatilla, a 911 caller reported.

•Pendleton police arrested Erika Kaye Gordon, 19, of Pendleton on a probation violation and for methamphetamine possession.

FRIDAY

11:47 a.m. - The driver of a Ford Ranger suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Hermiston.

Oregon State Police reported Erin Marie Anderson, 36, of Heppner, was driving a Chevrolet Suburban with a trailer and tried to turn north from Minnehaha Road into Highway 207. While making the turn, a red Ford Ranger collided with the trailer. Anderson drove the Chevrolet. Police cited her for failure to obey a traffic control device. Craig Evert Engbretson, 62, of Paterson, Washington, drove the Ford and suffered minor injuries. An ambulance took him to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston. State police gave him a warning for not wearing a seatbelt.

3:45 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of child neglect.

4:20 p.m. - Two males spray painted a sign in the area of Northeast 11th Avenue and North Elizabeth Street, Milton-Freewater.

4:54 p.m. - A Hermiston caller asked to speak to an officer about a phone and computer scam she received.

6:18 p.m. - Emergency services responded to a tractor on fire on Big Butter Creek Lane, Echo, and put out the fire.

11:23 p.m. - Pendleton police received a 911 call about an assault at a residence on Southwest Emigrant Avenue.

SATURDAY

12:46 a.m. - Pendleton police responded to Mosa, 140 s. Main st., Pendleton, for a disturbance. Police would receive reports of disturbances at the bar at 1:47 a.m., 2:32 a.m. and 4:08 a.m.

7:13 a.m. - Pendleton police received a report of child abuse or neglect.

10:41 a.m. - Ducks trying to cross West Hermiston Avenue, Hermiston, prompted a caller to tell police a car could run over the fowl.

10:48 a.m. - A man told Umatilla police he was at a house with the number 132 in McNary but did not know the street and a man came in 30 minutes ago, wanted to fight him and stole his phone, driver’s license, other identification and bank card.

11:43 a.m. - An Irrigon caller on Northeast Oregon Avenue reported the theft of a pressure washer.

6:42 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report for child abuse or neglect.

8:01 p.m. - Milton-Freewater police responded to the 100 block of Northwest 11th Avenue after a vehicle stuck a juvenile. The driver took off, and the victim declined medical treatment at a hospital.

11:40 p.m. - Two juveniles threw eggs at a home on the 1000 block of Northeast Fourth Avenue, Milton-Freewater.

11:56 p.m. - Umatilla County law enforcement received a report of a burglary in progress on Balboa Lane, Hermiston.

SUNDAY

2:29 p.m. - Pendleton police took a report for child neglect.

5:51 p.m. - A caller in Pendleton reported a drunk driver at Bi-Mart, 901 S.W. Emigrant Ave., but police did not find the driver.

That was the same situation when Pendleton police received a call at 11:21 p.m. about two possibly intoxicated people parked at Three R’s School, 920 S.W. Frazer Ave.

While the officers did not find these drivers, Pendleton police cited and arrested several intoxicated drivers during the weekend. You can find out more about those below.

11:19 p.m. - Hermiston police responded to an assault on the 600 block of Southeast Sixth Street.

•Pendleton police arrested Christine Laib, 27, of Pendleton, for DUII.

•Hermiston police arrested Jesus Salvador Solorio Vidales, 34, of Hermiston, on multiple warrants and for identity theft and possession of a forged instrument.

•Pendleton police arrested Christopher Matthew Rhoades, 31, of Pendleton, for DUII.

Sunday

•Boardman police arrested Jorge Luis Alcala Sanchez, 32, of Boardman, for unauthorized use of a vehicle.

•Staff at Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston at 7:18 p.m. told the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office a patient is in the emergency department after her boyfriend beat her a few days ago in Irrigon.

The report led to the arrest of Helmer Jimenez Zamudio, 28, of Kennewick, for second-degree kidnapping, interfering with making a call to 911, and domestic violence charges of assault, harassment and strangulation.

•Pendleton police arrested Chyanne Bivin, 58, Pendleton, for DUII.

7:22 - Umatilla County sheriff’s deputies gave a warning for trespassing at the county courthouse, 216 S.E. Fourth St., Pendleton.

9:38 a.m. - 3D Idapro Solution’s dehydration plant at 405 Hoosier Lane can’t get a break. Stanfield police during the day issued the facility four more citations for odors.

10:22 a.m. - Pendleton police received a report to check on a child who may be suffering from abuse or neglect.

11:29 a.m. - Stanfield police took on more code violations, this time on Lucy Street and for an old mattress and tires in a back yard on Elizabeth Drive, both in Stanfield.

1:39 p.m. - Hermiston police responded to a theft complaint on the 700 block of South Highway 395. The department took three more theft reports throughout the day: one on the 1600 block of North First Street, one on the 700 block of East Hurlburt Avenue and one on the 1300 block of North First Street.

7:51 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a resident of Villadom Mobile Home & RV Park, 53785 W. Crockett Road, Milton-Freewater, concerning violations of a restraining order.

8:56 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report of domestic violence on the 2000 block of Southeast Court Avenue.

9:01 p.m. - Police responded to a disturbance at Abundant Care, an assisted living facility in Echo at 811 Gerome St.

•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Bernabe Guardado Escalante, 31, of Hermiston, on warrants and for possession of methamphetamine.

Midnight - Oregon State Police spotted an abandoned Chevrolet pickup on Highway 334 near milepost 6 in northern Umatilla County. The pickup’s emergency light were not on, no reflective road triangles or flares were around the vehicle, and it blocked about half of the eastbound lane. State police deemed it a hazard and called for a tow truck.

Jim’s Towing of Milton-Freewater tried to haul the Chevrolet, but it was too heavy to take to the impound yard. The tow truck, though, was able to move the pickup off the road.

2:01 a.m. - Another traffic hazard occurred near the Hermiston Raceway, 81170 Highway 395, Hermiston, when someone lost five bales of hay in the road.

12:05 p.m. - Hermiston police responded to a report of a burglary of an abandoned house on the 600 block of East Gladys Avenue.

12:08 p.m. - The East Umatilla County Rural Fire Protection District and Helix Fire responded to a grass fire on Lieuallen Road outside Weston. The fire went into the cheat grass and land in the Conservation Reserve Program, then climbed the hill into a wheat field.

Weston’s public works staff cut a line with a front-end loader, which laid the greener wheat down and stopped the fire from spreading. East Umatilla had nine firefighters with two brush trucks and a tender on the initial attack. Assistance came from Pendleton Fire, Umatilla Tribal Fire, the Oregon Department of Forestry, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. East Umatilla Chief Dave Baty thanked the other agencies.

“This fire had the potential to take off and burn, but we had enough help to stop it,” he said.

The fire burned three acres and the cause remains under investigation.

1:30 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of animal abuse.

1:55 p.m. - A Hermiston caller asked to speak to an officer about his family framing him.

5:57 p.m. - Law enforcement took a report for an assault on Northeast Johns Place, Pendleton.


One Oregon State Police trooper helped a woman who fell, and another tracked down the suspect who abandoned a pickup

11:14 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft from the Athena city shops on North Second and East Main street, Athena.

11:44 a.m. -A resident on South Cold Springs Road, Pendleton, reported the theft of mail.

12:05 p.m. - Umatilla police responded to possible domestic violence between two people walking on Pine Tree Avenue and Powerline Road.

12:18 p.m. - Oregon State Police trooper John Zuzeler was checking anglers at Weston Pond when an older woman fell, striking her head. She was in and out of consciousness and having seizures. The trooper provided aid until medics arrived, and an air ambulance flew her to a local hospital.

2:13 p.m. - A young child in Hermiston called 911 and told the dispatcher the call was an accident. The dispatcher asked for a parent to confirm if it was an accident, but the child hung up. Police did not find the child.

6:47 p.m. - A resident on Cobb Road, Milton-Freewater, reported a vehicle hit and killed a dog in front of her house. People got out of the vehicle, dragged the small Husky-type dog to her lawn and left. She also said she took a photograph of the vehicle.

4:23 a.m. - Hermiston police received a report of an assault on the 400 block of Northwest 11th Street.

•Oregon State Police arrested Brett Ronald Leake, 56, of Helix, for misdemeanor driving while suspended and felony methamphetamine possession.

State police suspected Leake was the driver who abandoned a pickup sometime Wednesday outside Helix and left it partially in the road. Trooper Tyler Steele contacted Leake, who admitted to driving and leaving the pickup. He also had a meth pipe, according to state police, and said he used meth.

The trooper arrested Leake and booked him into the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, for the driving and drug charges and referred a probation violation charge to the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.

•Milton-Freewater police arrested Jose Alvarez Alvarez, 55, no address available, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Busy day of vehicle thefts, noxious weeds, a woman who jumped from a car and the search for a body

TUESDAY

5:37 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle theft at Wildcat Electric, 32224 Baxter Road, Hermiston.

6:02 a.m. - Hermiston police took a report for a vehicle theft from a caller on West Orchard Avenue.

8:23 a.m. - A caller reported a female was acting strange and in the road at Umatilla River Road and Bonney Lane, Umatilla.

10:13 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report for a vehicle in the ditch at Tutuilla Creek and Best roads, Pendleton.

10:35 a.m. - Stanfield police handled more code violations, starting with a second complaint about the condition of property on Willow Drive, noxious weeds at a site on Locust Street and more noxious weeds in the empty lot behind Center Market.

11:08 a.m. - A Hermiston resident told police she received a scam text from 315-384-9574 claiming the IRS was sending someone to arrest her for not paying her bill. She said she did not provide any information to the sender.

1:41 p.m. - Umatilla Tribal Police Department asked Pendleton police to help find a white Hyundai with Arkansas plates. A female passeger jumped from the car and went to St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton.

Police did not find the vehicle.

4:02 - A 911 caller report of a possible body on the gravel bar to the west of the Eighth Street Bridge, Pendleton. Officers searched but found no body.

5:37 p.m. - Pilot Rock police received a report of an assault victim at the city’s public library, 144 N. Alder Place.

8:18 p.m. - A caller at the One Stop Mart, 28810 Stafford Hansel Road, Hermiston, reported horses were loose.

9:59 p.m. - And cows were out at Bensel Road and Highway 395, Hermiston.

•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Daniel Stephen Crabb, 33, no address available, for fourth-degree assault and unauthorized use of vehicle.

6:10 a.m. - Hermiston police received a report of child abuse.

11:49 a.m. - A Umatilla resident on Wenatchee Street reported her husband just saw a man in a white Datsun pickup steal their recycling cans they gathered for a Girl Scout fundraiser.

11:51 a.m. - Pendleton police received a 911 report of a man and woman fight outside at Southwest Second Street and Dorion Avenue, Pendleton. Officers did not find the couple.

2:27 p.m. - Hermiston police responded to a bomb threat at the Walmart Supercenter, 1350 N. First St. Walmart management made the decision to evacuate the store, and Hermiston officers assisted. Hermiston police reported officers found nothing suspicious and management at approximately 3 p.m. reopened the store. Hermiston police also reported the investigation is ongoing.

6:54 p.m. - Umatilla police received a report of an armed subject at the Mobil station, 1800 Sixth Street.

7:51 p.m. - A 911 caller on South Franklin Street, Weston, reported a man hit him with his fist and dented his pickup.

8 p.m. - A Boardman resident on Wilson Lane asked law enforcement to send extra patrols his way after he heard someone on his back porch.

8:34 p.m. - An aggressive Chihuahua chased a small girl at Northeast Main Avenue and North First Street, Irrigon. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office warned the dog’s owner for allowing the dog to be a public nuisance.

8:49 p.m. - Pendleton police took a report for an assault at Crabby’s Underground Saloon & Dance Hall, 220 S.W. First St.

10:24 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of an assault on the 1300 block of Southwest Sage Drive.

10:27 p.m. - Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a report of multiple gunshots on Foster Road, Milton-Freewater.

7:27 a.m. - An Irrigon resident reported a woman from work was harassing her on her work phone. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office warned the harasser to stop the communication.

8:30 a.m. - Pilot Rock police took a complaint about a dog attacking a 67-year-old woman on Northeast Elm Street.

10:01 a.m. - A caller at Pendleton Riverside Apartments, 1300 N.W. Carden Ave,, Pendleton, told police her stepfather was trying to leave with her dog.

12 p.m. - A woman told Hermiston police someone was stalking her and followed her into a restaurant on Southwest 11th Street.

3:19 p.m. - The father of an 18-month-old girl in Pendleton “was verbally abusive” and threatening, the mother of the child reported to police.

5:26 p.m. - Oregon State Police and other emergency agencies responded to a single-vehicle crash on the eastbound side of Interstate 82 near milepost 11. Terrance Lamond Johnson, 44, of Deer Park, rolled a white Infiniti I30. An ambulance took Johnson to a local hospital, and state police cited him for reckless driving and contempt for failing to pay fines in Baker County.

10:19 p.m. - The carcass of an elk in the road caused a crash on the eastbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost 236. No one was injured, according to Oregon State Police, but the Honda Odyssey needed a tow truck. A second crash into a dead elk occurred at 11:36 p.m.

12:01 p.m. - A 911 caller reported a back yard on fire on South First Street, Irrigon.

12:06 a.m. - Another dead elk in the road, another crash. This one occurred on the connector road between Emigrant State Park and Meacham. Again, no one was injured.

2:12 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorcycle crash between Ione and Cecil on Highway 74. Multiple agencies responded, and Oregon State Police handled the crash investigation.

8 p.m. - A resident on Cain Lane, Irrigon, reported people are going to her property and taking pictures, making her daughters feels unsafe. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office plans to send extra patrols through the area.

9:50 p.m. - Umatilla police received a report of a drunk driver in a silver SUV at the Crossroads Truck Stop, 2020 Highway 730.

Saturday

•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested John Asteste Wilson, 43, of Pendleton, for violating probation, resisting arrest, recklessly endangering another, menacing and attempted assault of a public safety officer.

•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Walker Taylor Tate, 21, of Pendleton, for misdemeanors of assault and domestic abuse.

•Oregon State Police cited Aaron Leamon Brackins, 21, and Shomari Ajani Homan, 28, both of Spokane, for importing/exporting marijuana items of more than an ounce and less than a pound.

Sunday

•Oregon State Police arrested Alvaro Demetrio Orrala, 25, of Pendleton, after he crashed with a carload of passengers.

Trooper Isaiah Johnston came upon a two-vehicle crash at 1:33 a.m. on the westbound side of Interstate 84 about four miles east of Pendleton. According to state police, Orrala drove a gray Mazda 3 at a high speed and crashed into the rear of Chevrolet Malibu.

The trooper contacted Orrala and noticed he was impaired, and he showed more signs of impairment during sobriety tests. Johnston arrested Orrala for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Ambulances from Pendleton and the Umatilla Indian Reservation took the four occupants to St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton, where medical staff treated and released them the same morning.

Orrala refused an alcohol-level breath test, state police reported, but insisted on a blood draw. St. Anthony handled that as well.

Orrala remains in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, on charges of DUII, reckless driving, reckless endangering and second-degree assault.

•Pendleton police arrested Elexas Shining Star Bearchum, 21, of Pendleton, for violating probation and possession of methamphetamine.

•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested David Paul Thomas, 50, of Hermiston, for felony driving while suspended/revoked.

9:30 a.m. - Umatilla police received a complaint about a female on Kiwi Court “screaming and cussing at all hours of the day and night.”

10:30 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary on the 85000 block of Griggs Road, Milton-Freewater.

10:37 a.m. - A Hermiston resident on 1100 block of Northwest Stockton Street asked to speak to an officer about multiple thefts.

1:07 p.m.- A Pilot Rock resident on East Birch Creek Road reported he was burning garbage and started a grass fire.

2:34 p.m. - A caller in Irrigon reported her son in Pasco was “locked in a shed and was knocked out.” The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office advised her to contact police in Pasco.

6:16 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report of mail theft on the 800 block of East Highland Avenue.

8 p.m. - An Irrigon mother on Cain Lane reported people continue to come to their property and take photos, and her daughters do not feel safe. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office reported it would beef up patrols in the area.

2:34 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report for child abuse/neglect.

4:45 p.m. - Daren Broderick of Hermiston was driving his Honda motorcycle north on Highway 395 near milepost 53 when he failed to navigate a curve and drove into gravel on the shoulder of the road, according to Oregon State Police. The machine hit the guardrail, and the collision threw Broderick. He refused an ambulance ride, however, and arranged for a family member to get the bike.

5:28 p.m. - A caller told Hermiston police a male and female were fighting at Butte Park on Northwest Seventh Street, and the male went into the women’s bathroom.

9:15 p.m. - Hermiston police responded to East Newport Avenue for a resident threatening self-harm.

10:55 p.m. - Umatilla police received a complaint about fireworks on Sonesta Street.

12:02 a.m. - Hermiston police took a report of a burglary on the 900 block of West Hermiston Avenue. This was the first of three calls reporting burglaries Sunday.

12:49 a.m. - Milton-Freewater police found graffiti at Freewater Park, 17 N.E. Eighth Ave.

5:08 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report of a burglary on the 700 block of East Main Street.

6:30 p.m. - One passenger car rear-ended another on Highway 11 north of Milton-Freewater when the first car stopped as a dog ran across the street. Oregon State Police reported no one was injured, but police cited an 18-year-old driver from Enterprise for following too close and cited the dog owner for dog running at large.

8:55 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report of a burglary on the 600 block of East Gladys Avenue.

10:44 p.m. - Umatilla police checked at McNary Heights at Columbia Boulevard and Chinook Avenue on a complaint about fireworks. Another fireworks complaint came in Monday at 12:22 a.m.

Saturday

•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office booked Brett Ronald Leake, 56, of Helix, into the county jail, Pendleton, for driving while suspended and felony possession of methamphetamine. Leake also is the man Oregon State Police cited for recently abandoning a vehicle that blocked part of the road outside Helix. State court records also show Leake has a case pending since December for driving while suspended or revoked.

•Oregon State Police arrested Roberto Can Mendez, 54, of Touchet, Washington, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Sunday

•Hermiston police arrested Jassamin Myshel Elwood, 26, no address available, for felony fourth-degree assault and failure to pay fines.

•Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Marco Lux Juarez, 24, no address available, for third-degree escape, hit and run and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

•Hermiston police arrested Gage Andrew Bourrie, 18, no address available, for first-degree sodomy and two counts first-degree sexual abuse.

•Oregon State Police cited one man and arrested another for driving drunk after they crashed into each other.

The collision occurred a little before 11 p.m. at Highway 395 and Punkin Center Road, Hermiston when one vehicle ran a red light and T-boned the other.

State police reported Josue Armando Muniz Lopez, 28, and Crescenciano Silva Ortiz, 25, no addresses available, showed multiple signs of impairment. Police cited Silva Ortiz for DUII and arrested Lopez for DUII, reckless driving, reckless endangering and second-degree criminal mischief. He remains in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton.

Neither driver was injured, according to state police, but one passenger’s intoxication level was so high an ambulance took him to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston.

7:19 a.m. - Pilot Rock police received a report of a burglary on Northeast Cherry Street that resulted in the theft of meat.

1:32 p.m. - A woman asked to speak to Hermiston police about her ex violating their restraining order. She stated he went to her father’s residence and tried to get information about her. Police determined the complaint was unfounded.

1:41 p.m. - A Hermiston resident told police someone opened up a mobile phone account in her name and used her Social Security number.

2:19 p.m. - A car prowler broke into a vehicle on Northeast Third Place, Hermiston, the vehicle owner reported, and stole two purses and a bucket with $60-70 in change.

6:19 p.m. - Umatilla police looked into a complaint about fireworks on Martin Drive.

7:03 p.m. - The manager of Wildwood RV Park, 82280 Wildwood Lane, Umatilla, asked police for help for a kitten, possibly injured, under a car.

8:05 p.m. - A caller on Lyle Lane, Milton-Freewater, reported possible drug activity.

9:56 p.m. - Umatilla police headed over to El Monte Street for another complaint about fireworks. The check turned up nothing.

12:27 a.m. - A caller at Wilson Road Mobile Home Park, 600 Wilson Road S.W., Boardman, reported her boyfriend was grabbing her and pushing her out the door.

10:50 a.m. - A female told the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office the owner of property on the 74900 block of Brace Road, Irrigon, hit her.

2:15 p.m. - Hermiston police responded to a disturbance on the 1700 block of Northeast Third Place.

3:55 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a request for a deputy from a man who said “a guy” came into his home and threatened him at the Northwestern Motel & RV Park, 389 Main St., Heppner.

8:39 p.m. - Boardman police received a call that a male refused to leave a female alone at Subway, 115 Front St. N.E., Boardman.

10:51 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a man “causing an issue” at the River Lodge and Grill, 6 Marine Drive N.E., Boardman. The deputy contacted several people, and they all went their separate ways.

Monday

•Stanfield police over the course of an hour issued nine citations for odor violations against 3D IdaPro Solutions.

•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daryl Bryant Lanphear, 38, of Hermiston, for felony possession of methamphetamine and falsifying drug test results.

•Hermiston police arrested Dawn Patricia Lowe, 45, of Hermiston, on a warrant for failure to appear and charges of delivery and possession of meth, all felonies.

Tuesday

•Oregon State Police arrested Randall Lee Case, 60, of Pendleton, for second-degree burglary and first-degree theft.

•Oregon State Police arrested Kaleb Allan Smith, 34, of Pendleton, for driving while suspended and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Wednesday

•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Sullivan Whistle Jim, 43, of Pendleton, for misdemeanor and felony attempt to elude, misdemeanor reckless driving, and felonies of dangerous drugs, criminal activity in drugs, unauthorized use of a vehicle and on a warrant.

11:52 a.m. - Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible dog abuse at a home on West Seventh Road, Irrigon.

6:02 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about more than 50 sheep loose in an alfalfa field on West Fourth Road but without an address. Still, a deputy responded and someone was repairing the fence to keep in the sheep and get them back where they belong.

Sort of reminds you of that joke, where the herder said his sheep are loose and asked a guy to help round them up. The guy asked how many sheep, the herder replies about 55.

The guys pops back with, “OK then, 60.”

7:38 p.m. - A 911 caller reported a structure fire on East Jefferson Street, Athena.

7:56 p.m. - A caller on Southeast Utah Avenue, Irrigon, reported people were setting off fireworks on Eighth Street and the “parachute is in the tree.” We don’t know what that means, either, but a Morrow County sheriff’s deputy responded while residents set off fireworks all over town.

The sheriff’s office received several more complaints about fireworks, including another at this Irrigon location and one at 10:34 p.m. at Northwest Gale and Church streets, Heppner, for people shooting bottle rockets into the trees and power lines by the city park.

9:01 p.m. - Brush caught on fire near a residence on Cliff Street, Umatilla.

9:11 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office began receiving complaints about fireworks. The reports spanned more than two hours and came in from sites in or near Adams, Hermiston and more.

11:11 p.m. - Umatilla police received the first of six complaints about fireworks. The calls came in from various sites and all in less than an hour.

•Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nicholas Lee Fisher, 35, of Irrigon, for harassment and domestic violence assault.

•Hermiston police arrested Travis Arlen Landon, 25, of Hermiston, for possession of heroin and on a warrant.

•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Justin Robert Burke, 21, no address available, for dangerous drugs, criminal activity in drugs, driving under the influence of intoxicants (controlled substance), open container and refusal to take a breath test for blood-alcohol level.

•Hermiston police arrested Jeova Gerardo Guzman, 28, of Hermiston, for first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and violating a restraining order. State court records show Guzman has been the defendant of more than a dozen criminal prosecutions.

•Stanfield police arrested Casey Jean Hinkley, 45, no address available, for DUII and reckless endangering.

•An Oregon State Police trooper checking angling licenses at about 7:20 p.m. at Hat Rock State Park, Hermiston, caught two men without licenses. One man was on post-prison supervision, according to state police, and the other had felony warrants for his arrest.

That man, David Robert LaSalle, 39, of Pendleton, took off running. State police reported the trooper still cited him and J.C. Samuel Thompson, 32, of Hermiston, for fishing without a license. LaSalle also received a citation for misdemeanor fleeing. The state police will forward the criminal charges against LaSalle to the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.

•Hermiston police arrested William Eugene Stolz, 44, of Hermiston, for domestic violence charges of second-degree kidnapping, strangulation, fourth-degree assault and harassment. Stolz has criminal cases dating back to at least 2000, according to state court records, and has local cases pending for first-degree theft and failure to appear.

8:27 a.m. - Five cows and three horses had their own get-together in the road at East Elm Avenue and Northeast Stoddard Lane, Hermiston.

8:35 a.m. - Another 911 call came in about those animals in the road.

8:50 a.m. - OK, something is going on. Cows were on private property and the Willow Creek Country Club on Highway 74 outside Heppner. The owner of the cows herded them to the right property.

Maybe there’s a joke somewhere about cows and golfing.

“Why were the cows on the golf course?”

“They were fore-aging.”

12:44 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of a burglary on the 200 block of Northwest Butte Drive.

2:01 p.m. - Staff at the Ione Public Library reported a woman refuses to return several items worth a total of $185, including eight DVDs, and she has a large overdue fine.

2:05 p.m. - Pilot Rock police received a report of a possible stalker.

2:50 p.m. - Pilot Rock police found vandalism on Northeast Cherry Street.

6:48 p.m. - A driver at the Pilot Travel Center, 2115 S. Highway 395, Stanfield, had some trouble. He reported his car does not go in reverse, so he asked the driver in front of him to move. That driver refused. The gas attendant told the driver to move and still the driver refused to move.

7:48 p.m. - A woman asked the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office to check on the welfare of her friend on Threemile Road, Boardman, after the friend sent a text stating, “SOS I need help.” The caller said she went to his residence but he did not answer the door or his phone.

8:24 p.m. - A semi driver called 911 to report she was at Love’s Travel Stop, 78665 Tower Road, Boardman, when a man collided with her Freightliner and now is yelling at her and she felt afraid of him.

•Pendleton police arrested Jared Elias Case, 24, of 49365 Cayuse River Road, Pendleton, for domestic violence fourth-degree assault. Umatilla County Circuit Court records show the district attorney’s office Friday morning added harassment to the initial charges at Case’s arraignment.

And District Attorney Dan Primus filed a motion to disqualify Circuit Judge Eva Temple from hearing the case because “the state believes that it cannot have a fair and impartial trial or hearing before such judge.” Circuit Judge Christopher Brauer granted the request.

9:04 a.m. - Pendleton police responded to a complaint at The Saddle Restaurant and Lounge, 2220 S.E. Court Ave., and warned a man who was refusing to get out of the restroom.

11:47 a.m. - A caller on Paterson Ferry Road, Irrigon, reported someone cut the fuel line and stole gas from his vehicle.

12:33 p.m. - Umatilla police received a report of someone dumping two puppies at the cemetery at Grant Street and McFarland Avenue.

12:54 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report for a solicitor violation that occurred Thursday on Southwest 10th Place.

2:37 p.m. - A Hermiston caller reported a burglary at her home on the 600 block of East Gladys Avenue and the theft of money.

3:27 p.m. - Pendleton police responded to Mac’s Bar & Grill, 1400 S.W. Dorion Ave., on a tip about four men talking about a drug deal. Officers issued a warning.

10:28 p.m. - Pendleton police assisted Oregon State Police with a traffic stop on Court Avenue involving several of the Mongols Motorcycle Club, an outlaw biker organization.

12:42 a.m. - Pendleton police responded to a report of a fight at the Circle K. 335 S.E. Court Ave.

8:10 a.m. - Hermiston police took a report of a burglary on the 900 block of Southwest 10th street.

1:43 p.m. - A caller at McDonald’s, 900 Southgate, Pendleton, called 911 to report hearing gunshots.

8:09 p.m. - Hermiston police received a stalking complaint from a resident on West Madrona Avenue.

8:35 p.m. - Gunshots near the Roundup Athletic Club on Southgate, Pendleton, prompted another call to police.

11:12 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of a red 2006 Dodge 3500 crew cab pickup from Pacific Ag Solutions, 2992 S. First St., Hermiston.

6:36 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report of child abuse.

11:15 p.m. - A caller reported a man in a red Nissan was prowling around and through vehicles in the tow yard at Mountain Towing, 225 N. Old Highway 11, Adams.

•The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office at 1:38 a.m. received a 911 call about a male breaking into a home at Riverview Mobile Court, Irrigon, and hiding in a child’s room. The sheriff’s office responded and arrested Stephen Scott Rodriguez, 38, of Umatilla, on warrants stemming from an intoxicated driving case.

•Pendleton police arrested Delores R. Saunders, 27, Pendleton, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

•Pendleton police arrested Michael Thomas Hall, 30, no address available, for felony probation violation and felony methamphetamine possession.

•Pendleton police arrested Richard Ronald Hercher Jr. 28, no address available, for felony methamphetamine possession.

•Stanfield police arrested four men for unauthorized entry and unauthorized use of a vehicle: Tyler Thomas Fitzgerald, 24; Jordan Lee Martin, 24; Leroy Manuel Capote, 27, all of Hermiston; and Justin Curtis Knapp, 22, of Portland.

12:38 a.m. - Hermiston police responded to an apartment on East Highland Avenue for a report of a gunshot but did not find any suspects.

9:26 a.m. - Umatilla police dealt with code violation for stacking furniture outside at a property on Third Street.

10:41 a.m. - A resident on Summit Lane, Boardman, reported a dog came into the yard and attacked her dog then went after a neighboring dog. She grabbed the chain of the attacking dog and tied it up. A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy took the dog to the pet rescue operation in Hermiston.

11:24 a.m. - Umatilla police visited the Umatilla Medical Clinic, 1890 Seventh St., for homeless camp issues.

12:45 p.m. - Someone at the Boardman Pool And Recreation Center, 311 N. Olson Road, Boardman, called for emergency medical help for an 8-year-old boy with a cut on his toe spurting blood.

1:10 p.m. - An Irrigon resident reported she lost her bank card and someone used it in Boardman, Irrigon and Hood River. She said the suspect may be an acquaintance.

4:33 p.m. - A Hermiston caller on the 1500 block of West Highland Avenue reported an altercation between two people, and one of them had a rock.

7:15 p.m. - East Umatilla County Rural Fire Protection District and the Helix Fire Department responded to Upper Dry Creek Road for a vehicle and grass fire. Milton-Freewater Rural Fire Department already had the fire under control when the other units arrived.

The fire burned a tenth of an acre as well as a work truck, according to the news release from East Umatilla, and no person or animal was harmed.

8:02 p.m. - Oregon State Police responded to the crash of a GMC Sierra pickup on the southbound side of Highway 11 near milepost 17.

The East Umatilla County Rural Fire Protection District was mopping up from the fire when it responded to the crash to help provide traffic control and a landing zone for an air ambulance.

State police reported passenger Ramona Rachelle Schneider, 30, of Pendleton, was injured, and the helicopter flew her to an area hospital.

Manuel Anthony Melendrez, 45, of Pendleton, was the driver, according to state police, and refused to say what happened. State police cited Melendrez for careless driving and not carrying proof of insurance.

Blue Mountain Tow & Recovery, Pendleton, hauled the vehicle from the scene.

8:27 p.m. - Emergency department staff at Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston, reported a 4-year-old boy from the Irrigon area came in with a dog bite. The Morrow County sheriff’s office responded and talked to the mother, who said there was nothing to do because “the dog had been put down.”

•Pilot Rock police arrested Richard Ray Moffett, 56, of Pilot Rock, for second-degree burglary, third-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief (vandalism).

6:55 a.m. - A Heppner resident on Linden Way reported a person broke the handle off her pickup door, stole her phone and refused to leave the residence.

7:28 a.m. - A second 911 call from the Columbia Crest Apartments, Umatilla, reported a husband was under the influence of methamphetamine and would not let his wife leave.

8:17 a.m. - Someone shot out windshields in two commercial vehicles at Homestead Lane and Bombing Range Road, Boardman. The caller reported the vandalism occurred Tuesday. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office took a report.

11:49 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report for burglary on Dixon Lane, Hermiston.

12:29 p.m. - The Heppner Fire Department responded to a report of a smoldering grass fire at Highway 74 and Sand Hollow Road outside Heppner. Firefighters extinguished the smoldering grass.

12:51 p.m. - A man asked to speak to a Morrow County sheriff’s deputy about a burglary at a residence he owns on Northwest Gale Street, Heppner.

3:21 p.m. - Another 911 caller in Umatilla on Reagan Street reported a wife was slapping around her husband.

2:53 p.m. - A resident on E Street, Umatilla, reported someone stole a package from her front door.

4:21 p.m. - Yet another emergency call came reporting domestic violence, this time to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office about a wife on drugs and fighting at a residence on Diagonal Road, Hermiston.

4:45 p.m. - The East Umatilla County Rural Fire Protection District responded to a quick-moving fire that was heading into timber on Pambrun Road at mile point 4.5 at the Wildhorse Creek Draw.

Two water tenders from nearby ranches sprayed water and put out the fire. The East Umatilla crew put out hot spots and started mop-up until the Bureau of Indian Affairs arrived and took control of the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

6:13 p.m. - An Irrigon resident on Northwest Washington Avenue reported someone broke into his garage.

8:27 p.m. - A caller asked the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office to send someone to check on her boyfriend in Lexington because he was punching holes in the walls and normally did not act like that.

•Hermiston police arrested Miguel Adams Cruz, 36, of Hermiston, for misuse of 911, a misdemeanor.

•Oregon State Police arrested Joseph Daniel Murray, 34, of Pendleton, for felony driving while revoked.

•Pendleton police arrested Johnny Angel Gonzalez, 36, of 1631 Third St., Apt. 7, Umatilla, for second-degree disorderly conduct, felony methamphetamine possession and a felony parole violation. The Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office brought initial charges against Gonzalez for second-degree disorderly conduct and methamphetamine and cocaine possession.

4:50 a.m. - Hermiston police gave a warning on East Main Street for a barking dog.

5:15 a.m. - Milton-Freewater police took a report for the theft of a Toyota Rav4 from the 600 block of Northeast Ninth Court.

8:08 a.m. - A male asked to speak to a Hermiston officer about someone harassing and stalking him.

8:15 a.m. - A Pendleton resident on Northwest Despain Avenue reported vandalism to his vehicle.

8:59 a.m. - A caller at the Shell station in Irrigon reported a male was unconscious and on the ground next to the convenience store, then called back and said the person was not breathing and CPR was in progress. The Irrigon ambulance service took the patient to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston.

10:31 a.m. - An Ione woman living on Baker Lane reported the theft of 450 gallons of fuel from the tank next to her home.

10:40 a.m. - A 911 caller reported an assault at a site on Prunedale Road, Milton-Freewater.

11:36 a.m. - Someone left graffiti on a stop sign on the 100 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue, Milton-Freewater.

12:06 a.m. - Umatilla police found graffiti at Two Rivers Terminal, 621 Fifth St.

12:26 p.m. - Umatilla police received an anonymous report of animal abuse occurring at a site on Chinook Court.

12:49 p.m. - A resident on West Ridgeway Avenue, Hermiston, told police she is moving and a male stopped by her house twice and asked questions, and that seemed suspicious.

3:44 p.m. - A male at the Umatilla Police Department reported organized crime was out to get him again.

6:02 p.m. - The driver of a semi hauling a refrigeration trailer headed up Butler Grade Road from Stateline Road, Milton-Freewater, ignoring warnings about fire shutting down Butler Grade.

6:55 p.m. - Emergency services in Morrow County responded to an Ione residence for a male who reported he felt suicidal. Law enforcement and counseling services created a safety plan for the man.

7:28 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report about an argument escalating at Domino’s Pizza, 1211 S.W. Emigrant Ave.

8:41 p.m. - A caller reported seeing a cougar about 20 minutes earlier along Canal Street, Stanfield, at the north end of Sloan Street.

10:46 p.m. - And emergency services in Morrow County responded to another report of a person thinking about suicide. Law enforcement found the person, who was not suicidal.

•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Urbano Cazares, 27, no address available, on four counts of third-degree criminal mischief (vandalism) and one count of supplying contraband (drugs).

•Hermiston police arrested Kurtis Kol Knowles, 20, of 1315 N.E. Misty Drive, Hermiston, for unlawful dissemination of an intimate image, a misdemeanor, and first-degree encouraging child sex abuse, a felony.

Garbage caught fire on the freeway, and a mother has a situation due to social media

6:14 a.m. - A load of garbage caught fire in a semi-trailer heading west on Interstate 84 near Boardman.

The driver reported he smelled smoke, so he looked in his rear-view mirror and saw the smoke coming from the garbage he was hauling. He tried to put out the fire and called 911.

The Boardman Fire District responded, along with law enforcement and personnel from the Oregon Department of Transportation.

7 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report for the violation of a restraining order at Meadowood Speech and Hearing Camp, 77650 Meadowood Road, Weston.

9:42 a.m. - Staff at the Irrigon Medical Clinic asked for a Morrow County sheriff’s deputy after escorting out two people for “being obnoxious looking for narcotics.”

11:31 a.m. - A Hermiston man on West Orchard Avenue asked to speak to police about someone putting notes on his vehicle.

11:34 a.m. - Hermiston police received a report of a female screaming for help on East Gladys Avenue.

1:03 p.m. - Umatilla police dealt with a vehicle blocking mailboxes at Raymond Street and Dean Avenue.

1:59 p.m. - A Hermiston mother told police someone used her daughter’s name to open an account on Instagram, a photo and video-sharing social network, and now is posting inappropriate material and making it look like her daughter is the one responsible.

11:04 p.m. - A resident on Depot Lane, Irrigon, reported she saw some people in her yard trying to get into the house.

•Pendleton police arrested Kayla Marie Clark, 29, of Pendleton, for fourth-degree domestic violence assault and on a probation violation.

•Milton-Freewater police arrested Richard Paul Spiess, 55, of 426 N.W. Eighth Ave., Milton-Freewater, for felony possession of methamphetamine and on a warrant for failure to appear.

•Hermiston police arrested Ofelia Lucinda Ramirez, 27, of Hermiston, for fourth-degree domestic violence assault.

•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Derek Lamar Williams, 31, of Pendleton, for dangerous drugs and criminal activity in drugs.

•Hermiston police arrested Gerardo Muniz Vazquez, 26, of Hermiston, for domestic violence charges of fourth-degree assault and second-degree kidnapping and on a warrant for failure to appear.

•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Alvin B. Vanpelt, 27, of Pendleton, for reckless driving and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Wednesday

•Oregon State Police arrested Barry Barrett Laster, 52, no address available, for DUII.
